Goulburn & District Racing Club Limited (GRC) and Racing NSW are seeking applications to fill four (4) independent Director positions.

Join the Board of Directors for one of country New South Wales’ strongest and respected racing Clubs, Goulburn & District Racing Club (GRC).

The town of Goulburn has had a long association with racing with records indicating that racing commenced in 1838, with the oldest Goulburn Cup dating back to 1883.

Goulburn & District Racing Club hosts a stunning, prestigious function centre situated on 40 hectares on the outskirts of town. With sweeping views of the Cookbundoon mountain ranges and the spectacularly manicured grounds, Goulburn & District Racing Club offers something for everyone.

The region’s premier racing event - the annual Goulburn Cup - is hosted on the third Sunday in August - bringing together thrilling horse racing, top-tier entertainment and vibrant community spirit. The $200,000 Goulburn Cup is a qualifier of the $3m Big Dance – held on the first Tuesday in November at Royal Randwick.

Goulburn & District Racing Club is in the business of providing the best Thoroughbred racing in Country NSW, with the highest quality facilities for trainers and horses alike. The GRC Board of Directors are responsible to oversee governance, strategic direction, policy implementation and management of the Club.

About You
Goulburn & District Racing Club is seeking candidates who are committed to strengthening the Club and shaping its future as a leading Thoroughbred racing and training centre within Provincial NSW.

People experienced and qualified in law, accounting, business management, commerce, construction, marketing and event management or other key business skills are encouraged to apply.

Governance experience is highly recommended. While racing industry experience is advantageous it is not essential.

Appointment Process
A Selection Panel, convened by Racing NSW, will review applications, shortlist candidates and conduct interviews.

Final appointments will be made by Racing NSW based on the Selection Panel’s recommendations and the skills needed to complement existing Board members.

Special Conditions
It is important that members of the Board are free from any business or other relationship that could materially interfere (or could reasonably be perceived to materially interfere) with the independent exercise of that director’s judgment.

Applications are invited from candidates residing in the Goulburn-Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan, Queanbeyan-Palerang or Wingecarribee local government areas (or who will at the time of appointment reside in the local government area).
