Find out what the beaten jockeys made of their runs behind Inference in the Group One Randwick Guineas.
Tommy Berry (Inference): “He’s always been a good horse this bloke. He’s so clean-winded, he’ll stay all day and the key to him today was switching off."
Jason Collett (Man From Uncle): “Got into a nice spot I was happy, he relaxed, just when I asked him to quicken, he didn’t go in the ground.”
Joao Moreira (Comin' Through): “He nearly came through, had a lovely run through along the fence. I came out when I wanted, he ran home strongly but obviously not able to go past the leader. I think he’ll be a really nice horse in six months time.”
Blake Shinn (Acatour): “He didn’t handle the ground that well, he stepped slow, got back and didn’t run on.”
Tim Clark (Captain Duffy): “Just a little bit outclassed today but he’s probably looking for a bit further and coming back in grade.”
Zac Purton (Malaise): “He travelled well to the 500m mark, but when the leader started to quicken it got him off the bit and he didn’t handle the track then.”
Josh Parr (Manolo Blahniq): “I set the poor bugger a task and he wasn’t able to finish off.”
Kerrin Mcevoy (Harper's Choice): “Nice effort. Travelled up well behind Man From Uncle, I was working into nicely from the 500m but just didn’t love the ground, he was completely off the bridle. So out to 2000m suits and firmer ground, he can run a nice race at Rosehill.”
Corey Brown (Hardham): “He ran nice. I know he didn’t finish real close to them but he travelled up like he was going to run right into it but the going just sorted him out. Back on top of the ground he’ll run well.”
Tye Angland (Impavido): “Went really well, had a nice run. Just up the straight an inside horse has come out and got him really tight, he was brilliant enough to get through the runs where as the winner was. My horse went well and probably looking for a Derby trip.”
Brenton Avdulla (Invincible Gem): “She ran terrific, obviously she has come a long way. Just a bit heartbreaking to get beat like that.”
