4. Double Vision is an emerging mare by prolific sprint sire Shalaa in the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable who can break through at her second start. Was $4.80 into $4.00 when tracking the speed and missing narrowly on debut at the Kensington track, and with that race fitness under her belt, can again stalk the speed and provide too strong over further. 1. Kokatahi, one of three Chris Waller-trained runners accepted, was beaten only by a long neck first-up coming from midfield, and can peak over 150m further. Was preferred in this instead of a BM 68 later on the program. 7. Feminino is a stablemate of the top selection, and similarly placed from a low draw after chasing the speed on debut at the Kenso, and extra journey suits being bred to get much further. 2. Velaris is an emerging four-year-old who can run into the minor money at just his second start; along with 3. Bello Cavallo who reloads 25 days after making late ground in a deeper Magic Millions maiden on the Gold Coast.

5. Journeyman is by powerhouse The Autumn Sun on debut for the Richard and Will Freedman camp in an open and tricky race. Will be right up to running this out, given three trials in 27 days, and with key gear changes in play, he represents terrific value. 4. Hay Street resumes from a wide barrier, but has ability and is a big market with James McDonald riding for the Archibald yard. 8. Written In Wrath is by Written By, and another betting watch having his first start for the Waterhouse-Bott stable behind two progressive trials, bolting in the latest by nearly five lengths. 1. Buckeye second-up goes in trifecta and first fours; while 6. Saint Aldwyn second-up is also capable of figuring in the money after running a handy one to a half length when fresh.

4. Decorum is a promising Snitzel colt in the Michael Freedman yard returning for his first run since early spring from a low draw in what should prove a strong form reference. Was good through the line in the second of two 1050m trials, and with blinkers off this time, he can settle back off speed and be saved for one dominant surge from the 350m. 8. Asilah is a filly by boom sire Wootton Bassett in the Waller stable. Impressive on debut at the provincials, rushing home to win easily after being heavily backed from $3.10 into $2.30. Taking on a tougher race, but drawn to get a sound run off speed again. 6. Little Iris will also be hard to hold out from the inside draw after a strong debut win at Canterbury when backed from $3.20 into $2.70. 3. Prince Charge is lightly raced and finished best to win first-up, beating Kokatahi who is a serious chance in the opener.

8. Samarelle is a smart filly in the John O'Shea and Tom Charlton stable resuming for only her fourth start, with blinkers coming off. Took progressive strides last year, sweeping home to win on debut at the provincials before only missing by a half length in Group 3 spring company. Fitted with two improving trials up to 1045m, winning the latest, and with McDonald keeping the ride from that hit-out just eight days ago, she looks ready to rock fresh. 1. Signor Tortoni can improve sharply 39 days between runs via a dominant trial win, and dropping in grade. 4. Clear Proof is hard fit, and steps up from a tough win in BM 64 grade carrying 2kg more. 7. Kilbrannan has been given an eight week break since consecutive wins up to a lesser grade, and comes back a furlong in trip off a quiet trial. Gap to the rest.

3. Thames is a talented Godolphin mare resuming off a lengthy break for her first outing in the new Gary Portelli stable. Was placed in all four runs in Victoria last autumn when always well in the market before switching states and charging home from the back to miss narrowly in a Listed feature over the Scone carnival. Looked strong cruising home from the back to win a recent provincial trial, and is set for a big prep. 1. Big Red Tequila has improved significantly this campaign up to this level, winning two from three in dominant fashion , and is drawn to get a lovely trail just off the speed. 4. Useapin is a tough mare with a 25 percent win rate from 16 starts, and will relish a drop in grade fourth-up. 7. Let's Go Again deep into her campaign, and 10. Vanlee with blinkers going on third-up, are clear best of the rest and can add value into exotics.

3. Assailant is a progressive five-year-old who did enough when resuming off a long break to miss by a long neck in lesser grade 12 days ago after being backed from $3.40 into $2.70. Strips much fitter now with some weight relief, and given his breeding, the extra 500m is ideal. 1. Forbidden Riff powered home to win three straight at the provincials as the distances rose before sticking on well at a big price in a Saturday BM 78. Going well back in midweek company, but is still a shade under the odds carrying this weight. 7. Lunar Lover can progress off a dominant fourth-up BM 64 provincial win with winkers added. 5. Kureder comes back in grade fifth-up, and shapes over the odds from a soft gate. 4. Oakfield Hawk is a longer-priced chance of running into the money over significantly more ground fourth-up.

1. Clancy is a lightly raced and progressive four-year-old well placed to go back-to-back. Did his best work late when resuming over too short a trip before surging home to win a similar affair on the Kenso when hard in the market. Up 2kg for this, but has plenty of scope, and suited with the edge off the track and getting up to this trip. 10. Concordia Wind is the immediate threat after flashing home into a place when resuming on the Kenso in lesser grade, and the top jockey takes over. 6. Copacabana was dominant from the front here two starts back before disappointing on the Kenso, but a firmer surface is a plus. 11. Heat Missile drops in grade third-up, and draws to get a soft trail. 3. Anthracite can improve sharply at good odds after doing it tough from the gate first-up. Won three straight up to BM 64 level in SA last prep.
