Winter Warms Up With Super Value Offers & Free Family Lord Mayors Community Day

Australian Turf Club is launching a series of special ticket prices and new raceday hospitality options throughout the Sydney Winter racing season – starting this Saturday with a free family event at Lord Mayors Community Day at Rosehill Gardens.

Entry is free to Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, backed by a host of extra free family entertainment and activities including three Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol stage shows, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides, jumping castles and amusement rides.

Further free family-themed racedays in coming months include the Sydney long weekend 13 June meeting at Warwick Farm.

General Admission tickets across the Sydney winter season from 28 May start from $17 each via early group bookings at www.theraces.com.au with a 20% discount for Concession Card holders, and all pensioners admitted half price at the gates.

Customers can make further major savings with the new Sydney Winter Racing Super Pass at just $79 here.

The Sydney Winter Racing Super Pass allows General Admission entry to 16 Saturday meetings, from 28 May to 10 September, including Group 1 Winx Stakes Day at Royal Randwick, Chelmsford Stakes Day at Royal Randwick, and Run To The Rose Day at Rosehill Gardens.

Australian Turf Club is also launching the Winter Chalet on two racedays at Royal Randwick – Saturday 23 July and Saturday 6 August – which offers racecourse and entry into the popular The Stables on Level 4 of the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand.

The Winter Chalet includes a winter cocktail menu, whiskey tastings and an introductory ATC Membership experience for the day including all extra benefits of ATC Membership.

Several major charity events and racedays will also be held in coming months, including the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation, and Cornucopia function at Royal Randwick on Saturday 28 May, Wests Tigers Legends Raceday at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday 2 July and Racing For Good Day supporting ASX Refinitiv Foundation and ATC Foundation on Saturday 23 July at Royal Randwick.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Commercial, Melinda Madigan said an array of events were on offer over the next three months: “A day at the races is always a memorable and special event with family and friends and we are offering tickets to Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick to suit everyone’s tastes and budgets," Ms Madigan said.

“From the new Sydney Winter Racing Super Pass for 16 meetings which average at less than $5 a ticket, to special packages such as the Winter Chalet and award-winning premium ATC hospitality, customers can choose their own way to enjoy Australia’s best racing this winter.’’

Saturday’s 10-race card at Rosehill Gardens’ first meeting since the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is headlined by the Listed $150,000 City Of Parramatta Lord Mayors Cup, supported by Parramatta City Council.

Bethencourt trained by Kim Waugh and ridden by Jay Ford has opened a well-backed early TAB favourite ($4.80-$4.20). The Annabel Neasham trained Hopeful ($4.60-$4.80) for jockey Rachel King, and Aleas trained by Chris Waller ($4.60-$4.80), sit on the second line of Fixed Odds betting.

Parramatta City Council Lord Mayor, Donna Davis said: “We’re saddling up for a fantastic family day out at the world-class Rosehill Gardens, which attracts many thousands of people to our city every year.

“The City of Parramatta is proud of our reputation as a destination for premier events. It’s an honour to join our community for a great day out and to present the prestigious Lord Mayors Cup.”
