Racing NSW Stewards today conducted an inquiry into two Analysts’ findings of Dexamethasone in a pre-race blood sample taken from Sammy Conquers All prior to the gelding finishing 9th in Race 6, NRRA Championships (1400m) at Coffs Harbour Racecourse on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

Evidence was taken from trainer Mr Noel Mayfield-Smith, General Manager of the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory Dr John Kelejian and Official Veterinarian Dr Rose Bensley.

Mr Mayfield-Smith was charged with a breach of AR240(2), the particulars of the charge being that he presented Sammy Conquers All to race in Race 6, NRRA Championships Qualifier (1400m) at Coffs Harbour Racecourse on Sunday, 15 February 2026 and a pre-race blood sample taken from the gelding was found to contain the prohibited substance Dexamethasone.
