Kembla Grange Preview For Saturday 15th November

Supplied by Illawarra Turf Club

Race 1 - 1:30PM CHERY CHECKERED FLAG SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

10. SOVERATO - She was presented over 1300m on debut at Newcastle when she did an excellent job to finish as close as she did to the leader/winner on the day in a Race that wasn’t run to suit. She can be regarded as far better placed with the effort behind her. 6. LADY YARROW - This Kembla Grange based mare is well advanced into her second preparation (sixth up) but she returns home after a Hawkesbury effort that was better than it appears on paper with Amy McLucas aboard and she still has scope to improve. 1. BLAZING FUTURE - He has been produced to date at Hawkesbury and then at Newcastle over 1300m. He has suggested that he will appreciate a step up to this distance at both attempts and the spacious Kembla Grange circuit should aid his cause. 3. G’DAY AUSBRED - Chad Lever was aboard when he was presented on debut over 1300m last start at Newcastle and he didn’t finish far from Blazing Future. He can be expected to make improvement at only a second run in a Race and over a more suitable journey.

Race 2 - 2:05PM MERCEDES-BENZ WOLLONGONG PRESTIGE C,G&E C1 HCP (1200 METRES)

6. IRISH JIG - He Trialed late last month at his Warwick Farm home base in preparation for his first up attempt today with a Gear Change made (Blinkers Off). He must be forgiven for an unplaced first up run here last campaign in a Race that produced strong form. 5. ELLISMAYNE - Blinkers were added to his Gear before there were excuses for an unplaced effort here over this distance first up. He then kept responding to open his account last start at Nowra over the same trip and taking the next step is not already beyond him. 3. LONGINUS - He presents first up after two Trials and also after a Stable Change. His first up effort last preparation at Scone over 1400m was solid when he didn’t finish far away from a subsequent start Scone winner, Clubman. This journey is suitable first up today. 2. MEET ME IN BONDI - He is a lightly raced six-year-old who resumes after Trialing twice last month at his Warwick Farm home base. He was resuming from a much longer spell last preparation over this trip at Wyong when he displayed determination to score.

Race 3 - 2:40PM ILLAWARRA HAWKS CHAMPIONS F&M CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

4. MILES OF GLORY - She overcame a problem when she opened her account here second up over this distance before she was anything but disgraced when she was presented at Black Type level last start at Randwick behind Panova who then won again/Flemington. 5. PEWTER PEARL - A Trial here ten days ago at home has prepared her for this first up attempt. She will be attempting this distance for the first time at only start number three and she can be expected to cope, aided by the Claim for Mitch Stapleford. 2. SHOW BUSINESS - This Warwick Farm trained mare had been given three well spaced Trials before she resumed last stat at Hawkesbury over 1100m. She preformed well above Market Place expectations on the day and she has scope to improve second up. 1. PERLE DE CHOCOLAT - She will be making her Kembla Grange debut when she steps up in distance from 1100m last start at Warwick Farm when she was outclassed in a Race that has produced strong form. She can regain her best form in this Class.

Race 4 - 3:15PM GWM H7 FAST LANE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

1. GOLDEN LOOM - His unplaced first up effort over 1300m at Hawkesbury was better than it appears at face value before he did all but win last start at Newcastle when he stepped up into this distance range. He is already proven here, over this distance. 2. EL PASO - He resumes over a distance which would be too tough for most to cope with fresh. That’s not the case with him after his two Trials. 6. LUMA LIGHT - She takes on older opposition as a three-year-old but she’s anything but out of place today. She was dominant here at home last start. 3. DORADUS - He made a Kembla Grange debut with excuses at a third run since a spell and Stable Change last start. He can improve with a Gear Change made!

Race 5 - 3:50PM CITY MOTORS GROUP MIDWAY MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

3. KISSAVOS - He was stepping back up to tackle this distance last start at Wyong when he was presented after a twenty-eight day break and when he was much too good for all except the leader/winner on the day. A quicker back-up creates scope for improvement. 1. CENTURY SONG - He was spelled after only the lone effort in his last campaign at Hawkesbury when excuses were offered for an unplaced effort. Brock Ryan was aboard when he won his lead-up Trial here at home ten days ago. He’s now ready to resume. 11. MRS FLANDERS - She is based here at Kembla Grange and she has been in and out of work on numerous occasions but after Trialing twice recently, she makes her Race-day debut this afternoon. This short journey is expected to be ideal at start number one. 5. DORALEE - This Hawkesbury trained mare resumes after Trialing at home and then at Randwick. A Barrier Blanket will be in use for the first time. She finished unplaced first up last campaign/Wyong but there were excuses in a Race that produced strong form.

Race 6 - 4:30PM HYUNDAI PALISADE HYBRID C,G&E MAIDEN HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

3. SPONARS - He must be forgiven for an unplaced performance when he was making his Kembla Grange debut third up last start after he became unsuited in transit on the day. Stepping up slightly in distance from 1200m should not create any issues for him now. 1. EL TORO MACHO - He stuck to his task on debut/Newcastle in a Race that produced strong form before there were excuses for his defeat last start at Hawkesbury. Both Races were conducted within this distance range. He can improve with Blinkers added to his Gear. 14. ARISTOCRAT - He presents after thirty-three days off but he Trialed earlier in the month at home/Randwick and the break between runs isn’t likely to be a problem. Blinkers were removed before his poor effort here last start. The Gear Change has been reversed. 4. BOTANIST - After Trialing twice since a break, he made his debut last start at his Rosehill home base when he became completely unsuited in transit. Blinkers have now been added to his Gear and he can make a mockery of that first up unplaced effort here.

Race 7 - 5:10PM SHELLHARBOUR CITY MOTORS TEST DRIVE F&M MAIDEN HCP (1300M)

14. MICHONNE’S KATANA - She had Trialed twice at home (Rosehill) before her unplaced effort here on debut last start was better than it appears on paper after she struck too many traffic problems over 1200m. This slight distance rise is already ideal. 11. SAVEUR - After Trialing at her Rosehill home base ten days ago, she resumes today when she makes her Kembla Grange debut. Her first up Doomben effort last preparation within this distance range was gallant in a Race that produced excellent subsequent form. 2. SEMIBREVE - This Warwick Farm trained mare presents third up after competing here at both starts since a spell. She beat home a next start Kembla Grange winner when she was resuming before she struck trouble last run after a four week break. She can improve. 1. AURA - She begins her third campaign after Trialing twice recently at her Rosehill home base. Her unplaced first up Newcastle effort over this distance last preparation must be disregarded when there were excuses. She is far better placed first up now.

Race 8 - 5:45PM WOLLONGONG CITY MOTORS REV & RUN PROV. BM64 HANDICAP (1400M)

3. TEQUISODA - This Hawkesbury based three-year-old can be expected to cope when he takes on older opposition first up today. He will be making his Kembla Grange debut after two Rosehill Trials with this testing distance unlikely to be an issue for him fresh. 7. SPIRITUALISTIC - She was produced after a break of sixty-eight days when her unplaced Wyong effort over 1200m was better than it appears at face value last start. She returns to her home base today, more suitably placed over this distance. 10. DARN DEADLY - She returns to home base second up with scope to improve. A Queanbeyan effort was solid last start. She’s Race-fitter now. 2. NANTUCKET ISLAND - After scoring with authority here first up from a long spell, there were excuses/Rosehill. She can regain her best form today
