Jockey Quotes - Run To The Rose

Bivoac turned the tables on Exceedance in the G2 Run To The Rose but it was a hot race. Bring on the Golden Rose!

Joshua Parr (Bivouac): "My goodness he’s a rocket ship isn’t he? I found my position really comfortably in what looked to be a tricky race on paper. I was confident a very long way from home."

Bivouac bounces back

Kerrin McEvoy (Prince Fawaz): “It was a nice first up run - 1200m is just a bit short. That will top him off. 1400m next time we will see an improved run and then even further up to the mile.”

Nash Rawiller (Yes Yes Yes): “He was super. He felt vulnerable for second place 100m out. I loved the way he stuck to his guns. He has proven he has come back well and still has the drive to win races. I think he is right on track for the Golden Rose.”

Tommy Berry (Exceedance): “He is losing a length when they sprint around the bend and is dropping the bridle on us. In these better races up against good horses he doesn’t want to be doing that. He is going well, his run was great but he has got improvement there.”

Tim Clark (Dawn Passage): “He probably didn’t appreciate racing where he did, third on the fence and in between them. I think he might be better ridden quieter and with a bit more room.”

James McDonald (Kubrick): “Super return. He was probably just short of his best. Seven furlongs is going to suit him much better. He was in need of that run too so I was very happy with him going forward.”

Sam Clipperton (Hightail): “That was a bit of a head scratcher. He didn’t perform up to the level we thought he would so back to the drawing board.”

Kathy O'Hara (Mo's Crown): “I thought his run wasn’t too bad. The way the race was run, the sectionals of my horse would have been quite creditable. I think going forward he can step up in trip. It was a tidy effort.”
