Jockey Quotes - All Aged Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 1 $1,500,000 Schweppes All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick.

Nash Rawiller (Beiwacht) “He just travelled beautifully and he ran the sectionals and kicked off that. You know what It's like when you're on a really good horse and you know you're home. I just love the way he lengthened stride again when I asked him. I was just happy to enjoy it.

“Look, he's just a really highly talented, let's say he's a sprinter-miler, but at this stage I wouldn't be rushing to get there (longer distances). I think there’s plenty of 1400m and 1200m races he could be winning before then.”

Jason Collett (Lazzura): “Really good run. Had the gate and was able to get into the right spot. Split came late to run a G1 placing. Very good.”

Ethan Brown (Jimmysstar): “Great run against the track bias today. Maybe up in trip could be his go. He is going really well. Couldn’t be happier with him.”

Rachel King (Giga Kick): “Got into a beautiful spot and travelled up well. He just didn’t let down as well as he can. Might have felt the firm track.”

Zac Lloyd (Briasa): “He has gone very well. I thought I was going to finish a bit closer than I did at the top of the straight. Just feels like he has another gear but just not finding it.”

Jamie Melham (Half Yours): “Very happy. Very excited about his prep. He’s come back fantastic.”

Craig Williams (Pericles): “He has had a really good preparation. Just was a little bit dour on today’s performance. Still stuck to the task well.”

Tim Clark (Royal Patronage): “He is struggling to find his best form. That might be the last we see of him.”

James McDonald (Angel Capital): “Good run. Just no space at all.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Headley Grange): “He has gone fantastic. Had a wide run on speed. Has shown that he has got it at WFA. Just needs a soft draw and things to go his way.”

Sam Clipperton (Kovalica): “He ran super. Was terrific after the post. Took a power of pulling up. Right on track.”

Ben Melham (Fangirl): “I thought she ran a really good race. Tough for horses out the back especially later on today with her racing pattern. It made it hard.”

Jordan Childs (Magic Time): “She ran as well as she could. Had a nice run on the back of Jimmysstar. When they quickened they left her behind. Track might be a bit firm for her as well.”
