RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 6 # 2 – PEMBREY
She was ultra-impressive winning first-up in dominant fashion and she smashed the clock relative to the day, producing a clear new career peak figure. The filly did it at both ends, leading at a very-fast pace before accelerating away from her rivals and still showed late strength, clocking one of the meeting's fastest final 200m splits. The Tony Gollan-trained three-year-old faces the same track/distance with the dry track suiting, and repeating her last-start effort will make her hard to catch. Expect her to roll forward from the draw and by this stage of the day she may be suited by the track pattern.
RANDWICK – NEXT BEST: Race 3 # 14 – AGATHA
She’s a nice type and has looked sharp in two recent trials, suggesting she is ready to sprint well fresh. The mare won easily on her resumption last preparation and produced a rating that lines up well for this assignment. Further, she ran a solid overall time, but the back end of the clock was full of merit. The four-year-old draws tricky, but she gets in with no weight, which will enhance her key asset of acceleration, and she has the ability to run over the top of her rivals. Moreover, she has a solid SP in the Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes (1100m) from last campaign and expecting her to go to a new level this prep.
RANDWICK – VALUE BET: Race 1 # 16 – VEXXY

She’s ready to win fourth-up, having reached optimal fitness, and has a positive race setup, with the rise to 1400m being ideal. The mare had too much to do last start in the same grade after being restrained from a wide draw and having the pace/bias against her. Further, she made a long-sustained run, clocking one of the meeting's fastest 400-200m splits before maintaining strong finishing speed to the line. The Richard & Will Freedman-trained galloper receives a significant barrier change, allowing her to settle closer, and she finally strikes dry ground. In addition, she’ll need luck at the right time, but she has the potential to make the step and improve sharply.
WYONG – FRIDAY PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 7 # 4 – MODELLA
Keen on her under the race conditions and she looks well-suited at the weights. The mare has strong formlines and has produced Group 1 winners Autumn Glow, Idle Flyer and Manaal. She looks ready to fire first-up, off the back of two trials in which she has improved between heats. Further, she moved well in her latest and went through the line full of energy with a lovely action. She’ll need luck from the draw but has the closing speed to run over the top of her rivals.
