Sporting Chance Foundation Raceday At Randwick

Australian Turf Club joins with one of its longest-running charity partners at Royal Randwick this Saturday for Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation Raceday.

On another massive Saturday card with 144 entries over the nine races, the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation will hold a function of almost 500 people in the Royal Randwick Ballroom to raise awareness and funds for young cancer sufferers and their families.

Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation was formed in 1998 by former Australian Cricket Captain, Mark Taylor, rugby league legend the late Reg Gasnier, Olympian Raelene Boyle and triple Brownlow Medalist Bob Skilton.

Much of its funding goes to helping children with cancer to remain at home for as long as possible whilst still undergoing treatment. The foundation has partnered with Australian Turf Club racedays for the past 13 years.

Raceday sponsors aiding the foundation on Saturday include Supporterhub, Mizuno, Candana Bathroom Ware, Wilson Asset Management, Fujitsu Air Conditioning, EML and Seven News.

This Saturday sees the start of several charity racedays in coming weeks at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens.

The Royal Randwick course proper was rated a Good 4 on Thursday afternoon. A track report video with Royal Randwick Assistant Track Manager, Michael Wood, follows:

Royal Randwick and all Australian Turf Club racecourses provide free parking and free high capacity WiFi. Transport NSW buses run to and from Central Station to Royal Randwick.
