In a record-breaking season that knows no limits, jockey Pierre Boudvillan has surpassed anything he could of hoped for.

Boudvillan rode at Nowra on Monday where he could have reached his immediate target, but he will push on for more wins at Albury on Tuesday looking to capitalise on what has been nothing short of an outstanding almost 12 months in the saddle.

The state’s leading jockey for winners also knows its time to take the foot off the peddle in a month and spend some family time on a break back in France.

“I will have a bit of time off and head home,” he said. “It has been a great season with a lot of riding and travelling but it has been worth it.”

Boudvillan’s rise has been stunning to say the least, but the signs were there last season that big things were ahead.

He rode 74 winners in the 2024-25 season yet the years prior were lean, picking up far less rides and riding the occasional winner.

Boudvillan has ridden in almost 700 races this season and sits on top of the NSW premiership with 126 winners which was topped up by a winning double at Narrandera on Saturday and a treble at Canberra on Friday.

“The goals have changed a bit as the season has gone on. Aaron Bullock rode 127 winners last season to win it.

"I’m close to that and that is what I wanted to get to,” he said. “I have another few weeks to get more winners before I take a break.”

There have been many highlights – winning the Group 3-Black Opal at Canberra on Music Time and finishing third in the Golden Slipper on the Canberra youngster.

Boudvillan has applied his craft and hard work ethic at various tracks clocking up thousands of kilometres in the process.

“I’m loving it. I came to Australia not knowing a lot of people and it has steadily grown,” he said.

Boudvillan only has the two rides at Albury – Aerial Artist ($8.50 on TAB) and Lost Ya Sock ($34). He will ride Aerial Artist for trainer Michael Travers who also prepares Roulottie – one of his Narrandera winners.

Roulottie was the former jockey’s 28th winner for the season and Aerial Artist is capable of adding to that mark in the Skybridge Financial Maiden (900m). Aerial Artist was a close fourth at his first start for Travers at Corowa.

Meanwhile, trainer Danny Beasley is looking to extend his recent success with Under Wraps ($3.30) in the North Albury Tyrepower Class 1 (1000m).

Beasley has prepared three winners from his past five starters which forms part of his 11 from his past 50.

Under Wraps was part of his recent success leading all the way to win at his third start and break his maiden status at Wagga: “He had the blinkers on for the first time and they made a difference.

"He has to step up again, but I have always liked him and it was good to see him win the way he did last time,” he said.
