This Sunday’s Moruya program is the first of two “cracking late winter race meetings” this month according to the Club.

Moruya Jockey Club’s executive officer Ken Brown said Sunday’s Registered Clubs Raceday is always a popular event.

“We expect a bumper crowd out here on the day as all Registered Club Members between Narooma and Mollymook receive free entry,” Brown said.

“Off the track there will be Party Mode DJs as well as a Fashions on the Field and there is also plenty of entertainment for the kids.

“Of course, they get free entry, and we also have free facepainting and a jumping castle to keep them amused – it will be a wonderful family day out!”

The seven-race card features the $30,000 Clubs Cup Country Boosted Benchmark 66 Handicap (1425m) with a total of $220,000 in prizemoney on offer.

Then on Friday 28th August, MJC celebrates the towns of Tuross and Bodalla.

“This raceday features a fantastic eight-race program with the Club Tuross Cup [Benchmark 82 Handicap, 1425m] as well as the Bodalla Bowling Club Town Plate over 1010m.

“Both towns love their racing and really get behind this day – the meeting supports Daffodil Day with fundraising at the gate.

“We’ll have a bar and food vans with a TAB and bookies. And there will be buses operating for just $10 return going from Club Narooma via Bodalla, Club Tuross and from Promenade Plaza in Batemans Bay.

“This afternoon also goes with the spring theme for Fashions on the Field, again with Party Mode DJs keeping the vibes going between races.”

Moruya Jockey Club recently congratulated their trainer and horse premiership winners for the 2025/26 racing season.

“We acknowledged our leading co-trainers Mitch Beer and George Carpenter, while the Horse of the Year was Grey Secret who raced at Moruya three times for two wins and a second.”

Moruya is not scheduled to race again until Tuesday 15th September.

Meanwhile on Saturday, Narrandera Race Club finishes up their 2026 racing season with the TC Lee Memorial Raceday.

It is the only country TAB meeting on Saturday with the feature on the six-race program, the Narrandera Ex-Servicemen’s Club TC Lee Memorial Cup over 1400m.

The Club has a big luncheon planned with local artist Sameera Bashir playing live during the day.

Narrandera only race during the winter with their next meeting, Narrandera Cup Day, programmed on Sunday, 11th July 2027.
