Favourite Cando Attitude is likely to be scratched from the Riverina Ford Cootamundra Cup (1400m) on Sunday leaving stablemate Belleistic Kids as the stable’s only representative.
Belleistic Kids ($12 NSW TAB) has had the two starts back from a spell for the Joseph-Jones operation and will be ridden by stable apprentice Jordan Quince.
“That’s the way we will probably go,” trainer Paul Jones said.
“Bellestic Kids will be ridden more forward and he will appreciate the extra distance of the mile.”
The stable won the Cootamundra Cup in 2024 with Louie’s Legacy who was ridden by Quayde Krogh who has the ride on Sunday aboard Good Prize ($19)
Wangaratta trainer Craig Weeding is searching for another country cup with Fox Appeal ($7) who has the right credentials to also win at his third start back from a spell.
Weeding ran third in the Cup last year with Maid In Dubai, while Rob Potter was fourth with Laurel Hill and has the in-form Tavolo ($5) as his runner this time.
Goulburn mentor Matthew Dale has Stormbringer ($4.60) primed after three straight placings.
Dale captured The Legend Of The South at Moruya on Friday with Hurry Miss who is now exempt from the ballot for the Gundagai Snake Gully Cup.
Meanwhile, the Joseph-Jones team have strong winning hopes with Dawn On Me in the Central Hotel Benchmark 66 (1100m) and Jazz All Knight in the Virbac Benchmark 58 (1200m).
Quince will ride the trio with Dawn On Me probably the best winning hope after four of her eight starts this campaign.
Last start winners Drama Dodger, Justbetryin’ and Abstruse add extra depth to the line-up.
