ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 5 # 16 – UNLEESHING
She’s flying this preparation but has had no luck in both runs this campaign. The mare was chopped out of it at a key stage first-up, then shuffled back throughout transit last start and had too much to do. Further, she had multiple factors against her, but once finally clear, her late strength and work past the post had merit. She profiles to go to a new level third-up, and one of her peak figures came at the Randwick mile. In addition, with no weight on her back, that’ll enhance her turn of foot/closing speed.
ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 6 # 3 – GLOBAL GOAL

Global Goal (Pic: Bradley Photos).
She’s ready to win third-up, and everything points towards a peak performance for her target race. The filly's first-up run was full of merit in a high-rating race, where, although run to suit, she had to make her run through the inferior ground and clocked some of the meeting's fastest closing sectionals. She was then 28 days between runs and was just outpaced up tempo with the winkers on for the first time, but her late strength suggested she can only step getting out to the mile. The John Sargent-trained runner handles all conditions, is suited in the small field allowing her to be within striking distance, and the testing 1600m with the rail in the true position plays into her hands. Likeable profile.
ROSEHILL GARDENS – VALUE BET: Race 8 # 12 – PERFUMIST
She smashed the clock first-up at Newcastle, posting one of her career-peak figures when winning the Group 3 Tibbie Stakes (1400m) in style. The five-year-old chased a fast tempo before accelerating away, and she went through the line full of energy. Her Randwick mile perfomances/figures line up well against her opposition, and she receives key weight swings on some of her main rivals. The wide draw is of little concern, as she’ll roll forward out of the back chute and expecting her to take some catching.
DUBBO FRIDAY – BEST BET: Race 8 # 7 – SUTTON STORM
He’s always promised ability, and he savaged the line to score first up with authority. The five-year-old was well-ridden from a tricky draw, but he had to overcome the race shape, and his late visual strength was backed up by the clock, with the gelding clocking the meeting's fastest final 200m split. Further, he produced a high rating last section, suggesting he can make the step in grade, and the rise straight to 1300m is ideal. He may get the track pattern to suit, and he can progress through the grades.
