Racing NSW Stewards today continued an inquiry opened on 23 September 2014 into the findings of the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory (ARFL) of a banned substance being found present in the urine sample taken from licensed jockey Padraig Beggy following riding in Kembla Grange barrier trials on 3 September 2014.

Racing NSW Stewards now have to hand certification from two official racing laboratories certifying the concentration of cobalt found in 15 raceday swab samples and one non-raceday sample taken from 13 individual horses trained by licensed trainer, Mr Darren Smith, during the period 14th February 2014 and 21st May 2014.
